Compassionate Funeral Celebrancy
I have worked as a funeral celebrant for many years, supporting hundreds of families in partnership with many funeral directors. This experience has been invaluable and I strive to combine it with genuine empathy and compassion - aiming to be more than just a safe pair of hands. Alongside       celebrancy, my career has been in the music world - performing, teaching and conducting. I have a job in the orchestra for Birmingham Royal Ballet and have played in many of the major symphony   orchestras in the UK. This passion and expertise can add an extra dimension to ceremonies, whether through carefully chosen recorded pieces or incorporating live music  -  something that can be        surprisingly easy to arrange.

I live in West London with my family which includes Mojo the dog and two Scottish Fold house-cats.

Empathetic Guidance Awaits

For many people, arranging a funeral is a first-time and daunting experience. My role - in partnership with the funeral director - is to guide you through every step. We can explore readings, music, and the use of visual screens, creating a ceremony that reflects the life and personality of your loved one.  I also enjoy researching new literature, music and rituals from different cultures to create something truly meaningful.

If you would like to discuss how I can help you plan a personalised funeral or memorial ceremony, please contact me today.

Funeral Celebrant

“Dave Gordon-Shute was outstanding. He created a calming and assured presence at my husband’s funeral and I am very grateful to him. The funeral service was exactly how my son and I had planned and it is thanks to Dave”
